Match-3 Games
Free matching games: swap jellies, candies and jewels, connect candy chains or aim a bubble shooter.
Why these games
Matching games are where re-skins are most common, so we were strict. We kept one game per distinct mechanic: Jelly Match 3 and Candy Match 3 for level-based swapping (the latter in a phone-friendly portrait layout), Hot Jewels for fast timed rounds, Cartoon Candy for drag-to-connect chains and Bubble Professor for aim-and-shoot matching. Seasonal versions that only changed the artwork were removed.

Where to start
Jelly Match 3 is the best introduction to level-based swapping. Then try Cartoon Candy for a different kind of matching, Hot Jewels if you like pace, or Bubble Professor if you prefer aiming to swapping.
Strategy that works in every matching game
Scan the board from the bottom up, because matches low on the board cause more chain reactions. Look for four- and five-piece lines. And because most of these games are timed, a good move made quickly is better than a perfect move found too late.
Best on a phone
Candy Match 3, Hot Jewels, Cartoon Candy and Bubble Professor are built in portrait orientation, which makes them especially comfortable on a phone held upright. Jelly Match 3 is a landscape game that suits tablets and desktop.

Game-by-game overview
Jelly Match 3
Jelly Match 3 is a colourful swap-and-match puzzle. The board is filled with bright jellies, and swapping two neighbours to line up three or more of the same kind clears them. Jellies above drop down into the gaps and new ones fall in from the top, which can set off further matches on their own.
Best thing about it: Score bar and level system give clear goals. Watch out for: The timer may not suit players who want a purely relaxing puzzle.
Bubble Professor
Bubble Professor is a bubble-shooter puzzle starring a cheerful professor and his cannon. Coloured balls fill the top of the board, and you fire new balls upward. When a ball lands touching two or more of the same colour, the group pops, and any balls left hanging fall away.
Best thing about it: Bank shots and cluster drops reward planning. Watch out for: One endless mode.
Candy Match 3
Candy Match 3 is a sweet-themed swap-and-match puzzle. Swap two neighbouring candies to line up three or more of the same kind and they disappear, adding to your score bar. Candies above fall into the gaps and new ones drop in from the top.
Best thing about it: Portrait layout made for phones. Watch out for: Plays very similarly to Jelly Match 3.
Hot Jewels
Hot Jewels is a timed gem-matching game. Swap neighbouring jewels to line up three or more of the same colour, and they shatter into splinters, adding to your score. The board refills from the top, and new matches can form as jewels fall.
Best thing about it: Fast, energetic rounds. Watch out for: Little room for slow, thoughtful play.
Cartoon Candy
Cartoon Candy is a connect-the-candies puzzle. Instead of swapping pieces, you press on a candy and drag a line through neighbouring candies of the same colour. Release, and the whole chain disappears. The longer the chain, the more points it is worth.
Best thing about it: Distinct drag-to-connect mechanic. Watch out for: Less precise with a mouse.
Frequently asked questions
Do all the matching games have the same rules?
No. Jelly Match 3 and Candy Match 3 use level-based swapping with a score bar and timer, Hot Jewels is a timed gem game, Cartoon Candy uses drag-to-connect chains, and Bubble Professor is a bubble shooter.
Why should I match near the bottom of the board?
Clearing pieces low on the board makes everything above them fall, which creates more chances for automatic chain reactions.
Are these games good for relaxing?
Yes. They are colourful and easy to learn. Most have a gentle timer, so they stay lively without becoming stressful.
