Game Categories
Every one of the 47 games on GAME SPACE belongs to one of the 8 genres below. Each category page explains what kind of games you will find there, which ones to try first and how to get better at them, and links to our in-depth strategy guides. Every individual game page has its own full guide, written from the game itself: how a round plays, controls, a first-session walkthrough, strategy, common mistakes and a FAQ.
How to choose a game
If you have two minutes: try a one-touch game such as Stick Monkey or Flappy Ball, or a quick tapping game such as Touch Ball. Rounds last seconds, and restarts are instant.
If you want to think: the Puzzle section is the place to start. Plumber, Super Color Lines and Robotex Puzzle have no reflex pressure at all, and the physics shooting puzzles Zombie Buster and Zombie Shooter in the Shooter section reward careful planning.
If you want action: SWAT vs Zombies, Tank Wars, Viking Escape and Ranger vs Zombies offer levels, upgrades and plenty of enemies. Note that several zombie games include blood effects.
If you are playing with a child: the Kids section has learning games for colours, counting, maths and reading, and the memory games in the Puzzle section and gentle Casual games such as Balloon Paradise are friendly for all ages.
On a phone or tablet: every game works with touch. The tapping, matching and memory games feel especially natural on a touch screen, while the shooters and racing games are also comfortable with a mouse or keyboard on desktop.
Shooter games (9)
Free browser shooting games: duck hunting, a zombie action shooter, physics shooting puzzles, and arcade defence and flying shooters.
If you are new to shooting games, start with Duck Hunter: the rounds are short, the rules need no explanation and the difficulty ramps up gently. If you prefer thinking to reflexes, Zombie Buster has no time pressure at all. When you want more action, SWAT vs Zombies adds movement, five levels and a shop full of weapons.
- Duck Hunter — A faithful duck-hunting shooter with rounds, a loyal hunting dog and limited shells.
- SWAT vs Zombies — Gear up, choose your weapon and clear five zombie-infested levels.
- Zombie Buster — Every bullet counts in this ricochet-physics zombie puzzle.
- Tank Defender — Command a super tank and defend your territory from planes and atomic bombs.
- Space Purge — Protect the Earth from asteroids and small planets across ten levels.
- Duck Shooter — A quick-fire shooting gallery of ducks, eggs and bombs.

Action games (5)
Free action games in your browser: a maze tank battle with a level editor, two side-scrolling shooters, a brick breaker and an ocean rampage.
Brick Out and Mad Shark are the easiest to pick up. Tank Wars rewards tactical thinking and has the most long-term value thanks to its level constructor. Viking Escape and Ranger vs Zombies are busier games for players who want a challenge.
- Tank Wars — Defend your base in a classic maze tank battle — then build your own levels.
- Viking Escape — Ride a dragon through a goblin-infested forest, throwing weapons and breathing fire.
- Brick Out — Bounce the ball, smash the bricks and grab power-ups across 20 levels.
- Ranger vs Zombies — A side-scrolling platform shooter with a shotgun and three kinds of magic.
- Mad Shark — Rampage through the ocean as a rocket-firing shark.
Puzzle games (6)
Free puzzle and memory games: pipe connecting, colour lines, drag-and-drop picture and robot assembly, and two memory card games.
Supercar Puzzle and Robotex Puzzle are the gentlest introductions. Memory Game is a calm, untimed warm-up. Plumber adds a timer that only affects your star rating. Super Color Lines is the deepest puzzle on the site — easy to learn but genuinely strategic — and our Color Lines strategy guide explains how to think several moves ahead.
- Halloween Memory — Flip spooky cards, find the pairs and beat the clock level by level.
- Plumber — Turn the pipes, connect the valve and earn three stars on 30 levels.
- Super Color Lines — The classic colour-lines puzzle: line up five balls and keep the grid from filling.
- Supercar Puzzle — Drag twelve pieces into place to rebuild 20 stunning supercar photos.
- Robotex Puzzle — Drag the parts into place and assemble a transformer robot on every level.
- Memory Game — The classic concentration game — clear the board in as few turns as possible.
Match-3 games (5)
Free matching games: swap jellies, candies and jewels, connect candy chains or aim a bubble shooter.
Jelly Match 3 is the best introduction to level-based swapping. Then try Cartoon Candy for a different kind of matching, Hot Jewels if you like pace, or Bubble Professor if you prefer aiming to swapping.
- Jelly Match 3 — Swap wobbly jellies, fill the score bar and beat the clock level after level.
- Bubble Professor — Help the professor fire coloured balls from his cannon and clear the board.
- Candy Match 3 — Swap sweets, fill the score bar and climb the levels against the clock.
- Hot Jewels — Swap sparkling jewels in fast, timed rounds.
- Cartoon Candy — Drag to connect chains of matching candies before time runs out.
Racing games (3)
Free driving games: top-down lap racing for one or two players, zombie-crushing road driving and physics hill climbing.
Speed Racer is a top-down lap racer: you steer around a looping track, avoid crashing into the scenery and complete laps as cleanly as possible, alone or against a friend. Car Physics is a side-on physics challenge in which your car has a real chassis and wheels; accelerating tilts it back, braking tips it forward, and keeping it upright over hills while managing fuel and nitro is the real test. Zombie Uprising is an arcade road game where you crush zombies for points while avoiding contact mines and explosive barrels and keeping your fuel topped up.
- Speed Racer — Top-down lap racing for one player — or two on the same device.
- Zombie Uprising — Drive down a zombie-filled road, crush the undead and watch your fuel.
- Car Physics — Balance throttle and nitro to conquer bumpy tracks with real car physics.
Runner games (4)
Free endless runner games: jump, dodge, collect and, in one, shoot your way as far as you can.
Ninja Run is the most forgiving thanks to its lives. Crazy Runner is quick and great for friendly competition. Move on to Ninja Night Run once your timing is sharp, and try Super Cowboy Run when you want some action with your running. Our runner guide explains how to read obstacles early and build a rhythm.
- Ninja Run — Run, jump and collect coins, gold and jewels as a determined ninja.
- Crazy Runner — Leap over cars, grab food and coins, and run as far as you can.
- Super Cowboy Run — Run across the Wild West, shoot outlaws and creatures, and collect money.
- Ninja Night Run — Dash across rooftops under the moon, leaping gaps and collecting coins.
Casual games (11)
Free casual games: Gold Miner, Fruit Slasher, Fruit Snake, one-touch timing games, table football, dress-up and more.
Gold Miner is a timeless favourite with real depth. For a quick reflex challenge, try Stick Monkey or Flappy Ball. For something calm, Balloon Paradise and Girl Dress Up are good choices, and Super Goal is great with a friend.

- Gold Miner — Drop the claw, haul up gold and jewels, and hit each level's target.
- Fruit Slasher — Slice flying fruit, avoid the bombs and build big combos.
- Fruit Snake — The classic snake game in colour — every fruit you eat adds time to the clock.
- Fishing Frenzy — Fish, blast sharks with bombs and catch bubbles full of gifts.
- Traffic Crossing — Guide a pedestrian 100 steps across roads, railways and rivers to reach his car.

- Flappy Ball — Tap to keep the ball in the air and fly it through the gaps between pipes.
Kids games (4)
Free learning games for young children: colours, maths, counting and picture crosswords.
The Kids games are most valuable when an adult takes part. Sit next to your child, read the task aloud and talk about the answer before they tap or drag. In Kids True Colors, name the pencil's colour together before reading the word. In Kids Math and Kids Counting, count on fingers or with real objects. In Kids Crossword, name the picture and sound out the word letter by letter. Keep sessions short — five to fifteen minutes is plenty — and stop while it is still fun.
- Kids True Colors — A coloured pencil and a colour name — do they match? Answer yes or no against the clock.
- Kids Math — Forty playful lessons of drag-and-drop maths for young learners.
- Kids Crossword — Twenty picture crosswords for young readers.
- Kids Counting — Forty picture-based counting lessons with apples, cats and butterflies.
How we organise and write about games
Games are grouped by how they play rather than by their theme, and when two games turned out to be the same game with different artwork, we kept only the stronger one. Every game is scored with our public rating rubric, and each category page ranks its games side by side. Descriptions on GAME SPACEare written from each game’s own build — its levels, modes, items and in-game instructions — so what you read matches what you play. If you spot something that is out of date, please let us know.
